A two day masterclass (Saturday March 10 and Saturday March 17) to work on scenes from great American writers (Tony Kushner, Tennessee Williams and Arthur Miller). The development of character begins with preparation of dialect work in action. If an Australian actor wants an international (as well as local) career the importance of developing an impeccable American Sound cannot be underestimated and the understanding of the sound and energy of the speech patterns requires practice. The security of great writing will provide a solid framework to explore the characterisations and develop the storytelling in the narrative thrust. You will be working with a partner on scene(s).
*Successful applicants will be required to read three plays and be able to talk about the writers and characters. Please don't apply unless you are willing and able to do this.
*This is for experienced actors - either an acting degree or at least three years full-time acting)
