US Accent With Jennifer Innes

Event description:

An opportunity to spend two hours refreshing your US accent. Jennifer will concentrate on General American and cold reads. Successful applicants will need to bring copies of scene that they want to work on.

Bio of host:
Jennifer is currently based in Adelaide, and has worked as an Actor, Director, and Voice Coach in Australia and the United Kingdom. In 2003, Jennifer graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art with a Postgraduate Diploma in Classical Theatre. Following a tour of Coriolanus in the South West of England, Jennifer returned to Australia, working as an Actor on classical and contemporary theatre, film and television. In 2011 Jennifer sought to extend her skills and understanding around text and performance, by undertaking a Postgraduate Diploma in Performance Creation (Voice Studies) at the Victorian College of the Arts. Jennifer has since worked as Dialect Coach for such companies as Red Stitch Actors Theatre, The Honeytrap, Citizen Theatre and Sol III. She has been Voice Coach for several exciting Melbourne productions including Anti-Hamlet, Penelope and Himmelweg. She has facilitated Accent and Dialect workshops for a range of clients, from city councils to professional actors, and was Lecturer in Voice at the VCA and MCM. Jennifer believes in personal empowerment through Voice Work, and is interested in promoting equity, diversity and personal well-being in her Artistic Practice.
