Please note this masterclass is for more experienced actors who have completed an accredited 2 or 3 year acting course or have had at least three years professional work as an actor.   

Equity is pleased to announce a special opportunity for 20 Equity members to spend a day working with theatre and television director, Jean-Pierre Mignon. Jean-Pierre will work on different texts and all actors will have an opportunity to workshop scenes and explore different aspects of texts.

Bio of host:  

Jean-Pierre Mignon worked in Paris as an actor and director before arriving in Australia in 1978. He was founder and artistic director of Anthill Theatre (1980–94) directing classic and contemporary plays including those by Molière, Brecht, Beckett and Chekhov. Several productions were presented at international festivals. He has directed for the Sydney Theatre Company, the Victoria State Opera, the Opera of South Australia and the Victorian Opera. For television, he directed many episodes of All Saints, Neighbours, City Homicide and most recently Packed to the Rafters and Winners & Losers. He has received three Green Room Awards for best direction: Don Juan, Waiting for Godot and Cosi Fan Tutte, and was made a Member of the Order of Australia for his services to the performing arts in 1989.
