Synopsis

This is another opportunity for QLD Equity members to workshop their camera skills with Julian Curtis in a fun community minded environment. Up to 12 actors will have the chance to film a scene of their choosing and get feedback from Julian. This is open to all QLD financial Equity members but numbers, by necessity, will be limited.  Requirements: Actors will need to bring two copies of the scene they want to work on plus an SD card for their own personal use. Successful actors will be notified at least one week prior to the event. Please note: This in-person Brisbane event will take place from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM (QLD time) at APAC, Level 5, 102 Adelaide Street, Brisbane QLD 4000.

Host(s)

  • Julian Curtis

In 2025, Julian wrapped supporting roles in Hershey (opposite Finn Wittrock); indie sequel All My Friends Are Back in Brisbane; and The Tacoma Exorcism directed by Julius Avery. As a writer/director he is currently in post-production on ‘The Long Passeggiata’; an ambitious proof of concept detailing the 1960s Italian migrant experience; and has been commissioned by the Brisbane City Council to write his second full length play. His most prominent TV role was the lead villain in the limited series ‘Are You Afraid of the Dark: Ghost Island’ for Nickelodeon USA (Emmy nominated for Outstanding Children’s Series). Julian is a NIDA graduate.
