Synopsis

How do you bring authentic character, emotional depth, and confidence to every performance? In this 90-minute in-person Sydney session, Kat Hoyos – performer and acting coach – will guide dancers with beginner to intermediate acting experience through the essentials of acting for stage and screen. Participants will be moving throughout the session and are required to learn short scenes from memory. Through practical exercises and demonstrations, Kat will help dancers integrate acting with movement, work effectively for the camera, and perform confidently in auditions. The session covers emotional expression, given circumstances, and scene work, giving dancers the tools to elevate their craft and deliver compelling performances both on stage and on screen. Please note this is for trained dancers - either from a full time course or similar. Please also note that given this is an in house workshop numbers will - by necessity - be limited to 16 attendees. Please note: This in-person Sydney event will take place from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM (SYD time) at MEAA Sydney Office (Conference Room, 245 Chalmers Street, Redfern, New South Wales, 2016, Australia)
