This workshop is divided into two sessions.
Session 1: Filming your tape: Monday April 20 @ 12pm-1pm. This will cover: The value of self-taping both during after isolation; Self-tapes as demo-footage and as a means of connecting remotely; Setting up your home studio; Options for equipment according to budget; Technical aspects of filming; Using family members, housemates and other non-actors as readers; Ideas for filming in total isolation; Preparation, performance and mindset tips for for self-tapes and Finding scenes for self-tape showreels.
Session 2: Edit, export and upload using iMovie: Thursday April 23 @ 12pm-1pm. This will cover: Cut and edit your footage using iMovie; Sending your self-tape audition for a specific production; Uploading to Vimeo to use as demo-reel footage; Goal-setting and clarity during this time; Overcoming technophobia; Your own self-tape practice.
Please note: iMovie is free with Apple. If you have a PC, there are a number of very similar (free) options such as WindowsMovieMaker.
There is the option to upload your self-tape to our private Facebook group for peer encouragement, connection and feedback at the commencement of the workshop. Selection is by ballot. If you are successful you have received a place in both sessions and will be sent details about how to tune in to both. Attendance at both is not required but recommended.
