Synopsis

This workshop is divided into two sessions.  Session 1: Friday May 8, 12pm-1.30pm AEST. Session 2: Friday May 15, 12pm-1.30 pm AEST. Just as everyone has a book inside them, everyone also has a cabaret inside waiting to be written. Isolation and time are two of the ingredients needed to create something new. So why not take this time to Create Your Own Cabaret! Maybe you have an idea for a cabaret show and want help to develop it or maybe you need help in sparking the idea – in either case, this workshop will work for you. In Session 1 you will learn skills to devise your own unique cabaret show. You’ll then have a week to write the outline before Session 2, where you will share your outline and be given feedback. Both sessions will be led by award-winning cabaret performer Queenie van de Zandt, who has been writing, performing and producing her own cabaret shows since 1988.  She’s also the Artistic Director of the Cabaret Winter Workshop, a ground-breaking course for writers, producers and performers to develop the skills needed to devise, produce and perform their own cabaret shows. Attendance at both sessions is not compulsory but is recommended.
