Synopsis

This is a chance for agent Monica Keightley to talk with Equity member Jason Chong about the actor/agent relationship and the current and future state of the industry. There will be plenty of time for questions from the audience. Please note: This event will take place from 12-1pm Australian Eastern Standard NSW/VIC/QLD/TAS time and 2-3pm NZ time.

    Mollison Keightley Management enables the creation and development of careers in the performing arts. Our highly experienced team come from diverse backgrounds including law, producing, marketing/PR and performing. We work in close partnership with our clients to help them achieve their artistic and career goals, whether locally, nationally or globally. Monica Keightley has an arts/law degree and has worked at law firms Purves Clarke Richards (now Gadens) in Melbourne and Ashurst in London. Though artist management has occupied the greater part of her working life, past gigs include fronting a jazz trio in Melbourne, touring and producing children’s theatre as a university student, helping run and write for an indie theatre magazine, and performing in Australia, Europe and the UK. She began running MKM (then Barbara Leane and Associates) in 2003.
  • JASON CHONG

    Jason is a Sydney based actor who graduated from NIDA IN 1996. He has worked in Film, TV, Theatre and as a Voice over Artist both locally and Internationally. In 2017 he was nominated for a Helpman Award for Best Actor in ‘Chimerica’ for the Sydney Theatre Company and in 2018 won Best Actor for ‘Blacklips’ at the Canberra short film festival. In Theatre he has worked for: The Sydney Theatre Company: Mosquitoes, Chimerica, She Stoops To Conquer, The Tempest Belvoir Street Theatre: My Brilliant Career Bell Shakespeare Company: Macbeth State Theatre Company South Australia: November Darwin Theatre Company/ Tamarama Rock Surfers: Constance Drinkwater and The Final Days Of Somerset. Regent Theatre: The Original Cast of We Will Rock You. Critical Stages: King of Pigs For Netflix he has performed in ‘Marco Polo’, ‘Pine Gap’ and more recently ‘The New Legends Of Monkey’. Other TV credits include: Seachange, Ms Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries, Bite Club, Wolf Creek series 2, Janet King, Dance Academy, Satisfaction,The Forgotten and Melrose Place to name a few. In Film he was in Little Monsters, Blacklips, Guardians Of The Tomb, Happy Feet,The Forbidden Kingdom, See No Evil, Little Fish, The Pact , Better Than Sex, Icaris, In the Red and Wanted. Jason has been a proud Equity Member for over 25 Years.
