Synopsis

The US isn’t the only option if you are an actor wanting to work overseas as well as in Australia or NZ.  Canada presents many opportunities for Australian actors through their working holiday visa (18 to 35 years inclusive). Joel Jackson will talk to Canadian-based actor Hannah Levien about this interesting career path and how it all works. Please note: This class will take place online at 10am AEST and 12pm NZ time.

    Hannah Levien grew up in Brisbane, Australia. She studied acting at the University of Southern Queensland before relocating to Los Angeles and Vancouver, Canada. Over the years Hannah has gone on to act in numerous American TV shows including Supernatural (CW), The Magicians (Syfy), Siren (Freeform), Colony (USA), UnReal (Lifetime), the critically acclaimed Netflix series Brand New Cherry Flavor, and most recently, Reginald the Vampire (Syfy & Amazon Prime) premiering world-wide on Oct 5 2022.     Joel is a Logie and Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts award winning actor, musician and writer. Best known for his TV role in Peter Allen; Not the Boy Next Door, Joel’s numbering TV credits include Deadline Gallipoli, Hyde & Seek, The Wrong Girl, Safe Harbour, Mystery Road 2 and Ms Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries. Joel’s feature film credits include I Met A Girl, H is for Happiness and Jungle. As a writer and actor, Joel’s short film Stranger has won multiple short film awards internationally and screened at Flickerfest and the St Kilda Film Festivals. For the stage, Joel has appeared in The Glass Menagerie, Barracking for the Umpire (Black Swan), Born Yesterday (Melbourne Theatre Company) and Midsummer Night’s Dream (Fremantle Theatre Company).
