Synopsis

An opportunity for Victorian Equity members to workshop their camera skills with Julian Curtis in a fun community minded environment. Up to 12 actors will have the chance to film a scene of their choosing and get feedback from Julian. This is open to all Victorian financial Equity members but numbers, by necessity, will be limited.  Requirements: Actors will need to bring two copies of the scene they want to work on plus an SD card for their own personal use. Successful actors will be notified at least one week prior to the event. Please note: This in-person Melbourne event will take place from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM (AEDT) at MEAA’s Melbourne office – Level 3, 365 Queen St Melbourne VIC 3000.

    In 2026, Julian Curtis toured Sydney and Melbourne in Afterglow for Neil Gooding Productions and New York-based Midnight Theatricals, filmed mini-series Who the Hell is Hamish and will next appear in Wild Abandon for Playlab. In 2025, he wrapped supporting roles in three feature films: Hershey, releasing in US cinemas later this year; the indie sequel All My Friends Are Back in Brisbane, currently screening in Australian cinemas; and The Tacoma Exorcism, directed by Julius Avery. His most prominent television role to date is the lead villain in the 2023 Nickelodeon limited series Are You Afraid of the Dark: Ghost Island, an Emmy-nominated season. Julian Curtis is a NIDA graduate and Matilda Award winner.
