Synopsis

Casting directors expect actors to get the accent right. With so many opportunities in Australian TV and feature film, now is a great time to improve your Aussie accent. Led by Alexandra Whitham, a true-blue Aussie Dialect Coach, this workshop will provide insider tips that will give you the edge at your next Aussie audition.

  • Alexandra Whitham

    Alexandra is the Lecturer in Voice in the Performing & Screen Arts Department at Unitec in Auckland. She teaches BA Acting students in Voice, Dialects, Speech, and Text, and leads a module in Australian Dialects for the Actors’ Program. Alexandra also freelances as a Voice & Dialect Coach for theatre, TV, and film. Her recent credits as an Aussie Dialect Coach include ‘Cloud Street’ directed by John Davies (Unitec Theatre),  ‘Gwen in Purgatory’ directed by Katherine McRae (TAPAC), and ‘April 25’ directed by Leanne Pooley (General Film Corporation).
