Synopsis

An opportunity for  casting director Amanda Mitchell to talk candidly to actor and NSW Equity President Glenn Hazeldine about the actor and casting director relationship. Please note: This livestream will take place at 12pm Australian Eastern Daylight Time. 2pm NZ Time. You will be sent a Zoom link after registering.

  • Amanda Mitchell

    Originally from Singapore, Amanda worked in the film and television industry for four years before migrating to Australia. She has worked on hundreds of hours of Australian and international television, which most recently includes two seasons of Netflix’s highly acclaimed reboot of Heartbreak High, Stan & Sundance Now’s Totally Completely Fine (starring Thomasin McKenzie), Lingo Pictures’ television adaption of Markus Zusak’s award-winning novel The Messenger for the ABC and Northern Pictures’ comedy series Spreadsheet for Paramount Plus / Channel 10. Internationally, she has cast three seasons of NBC’s drama La Brea, as well as two seasons of NBC’s award-winning comedy Young Rock. Amanda has just wrapped on Lingo Pictures’ Prosper (Stan & Roku), an epic family drama set in an evangelical megachurch and she currently working on Northern Pictures new comedy series Austin (ABC), starring Ben Miller, Sally Phillips and Michael Theo. Amanda was the Australian casting director for Marvel’s highly successful SHANG-CHI & THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS (dir. Destin Daniel Cretton) and THOR LOVE & THUNDER (dir. Taika Waititi). Amanda also frequently performs consultancy work on international projects filming out of Australia, conducting extensive searches, most recently including: House of the Dragon (HBO), Yellowjackets (Showtime / eOne), Serpent Queen (STARZ), and Tell Me Lies (HULU).
  • Glenn Hazeldine

    Glenn is a proud Novocastrian who graduated from NIDA in 1994. Having appeared in over 70 stage productions, professional highlights include No Pay? No Way!, Cosi, Victory, Tot Mom, Love and Information, Elling, The Pig Iron People, Perplex and After Dinner for STC; Amadeus for Red Line/Opera House; Tuesdays With Morrie, A View From The Bridge and All My Sons for Ensemble; A Hoax for Griffin; The Judas Kiss for Company B Belvoir; Transparency for Seymour Centre and As You Like It for Bell Shakespeare. His long and fruitful association with David Williamson includes roles in world premiere productions of Dead White Males, Birthrights, A Conversation, Happiness, Rhinestone Rex and Miss Monica, Managing Carmen and Sorting Out Rachel and revivals of Rupert, Sanctuary, Charitable Intent, Face to Face and Don’s Party. Film/TV work includes Last Train to Freo, Little Monsters, Colin From Accounts (seasons 1 & 2), The Twelve, Dripping in Chocolate, The Moodys and Redfern Now. Glenn has been a proud member of MEAA for 30 years and is President of the NSW branch of Actors Equity. He is also Deputy Chair of the Actors Benevolent Fund of NSW.
