Commercial & Self Tape Workshop for Wellington Actors

Director and casting director Matt Eastwood and Equity member, Katrina Rumbal, casting director, actor and owner of The Self Tape Room know what actors need to bring when auditioning for commercials. An opportunity for Wellington actors to elevate their knowledge, skills and capacity to improve their audition technique and self tapes specifically for commercials. There are things casting directors are particularly looking for when casting commercials – learn all the tips and tricks! Note: free street parking.

Structure of the day:

• 10am: Introductions
• 10.15: De mystifying advertising. What to wear. Performance. Self tape tips.
• 10:45 Each participant will have received two commercial scripts in advance. The first
  script they will have self taped and sent in advance. We will watch these back
  and provide feedback on self tape and performance. We will watch the self tape of
  this script of the actor who actually booked it, then show the final commercial.
• 12pm: Break for Lunch 30 min
• 12.30: Second script. Talk about the importance of improvin a script and how you can make bold choices. Tape these performances & talk about the choices,  feedback and direction. Tape again.
• 2.30pm: Q and A
• 3pm: Wrap
