Synopsis

7 November 2026
10:00 am - 5:00 pm
What if you could strip away the unnecessary BS and focus on just three things? After nearly 20 years as a professional actor, Damien noticed that experienced actors often do less, but do those few things far more effectively. In this full-day workshop at Equity’s Sydney office, Damien distills his approach to performance into three fundamental principles: comprehension, vulnerability and presence. Through practical exercises and on-camera scene work, you’ll turn these principles into a simple, repeatable process you can take into auditions, rehearsals and performances. Less BS. More time to play.
Up to 16 actors will have the opportunity to work directly with Damien, with up to four additional places available for actors who wish to observe only.
If you are applying for a place, please be aware that there may be up to four actors in the room who are observing the workshop rather than participating.
Places are limited. If oversubscribed, participants will be selected by ballot, and all applicants will be notified. Please note: This event is at 10:00am AEDT (Sydney time) at the MEAA Sydney Office Conference Room, 245 Chalmers Street, Redfern, NSW
