Synopsis

  •  19 October 2026
     10:00 am - 5:00 pm

A full day workshop for up to 20 experienced actors led by Glenda Linscott, actor, director and actor trainer.

The focus of the workshop will be about creating work that feels authentic, alive and spontaneous – free from self-consciousness on the floor.

Yet under deadline pressure, with the demand to “produce the goods” or feeling underprepared, we can fall back on survival tactics; old patterns, habits and shortcuts that once worked.

This can stop us from trusting the process, listening to our creative instincts and meeting new work with curiosity and fresh eyes, ears and hearts.

What to expect:

Glenda will guide participants through explorations that help actors feel safe, creative and released on the floor – alive and ready to play.

For the mornings practice actors will be asked to bring a favourite monologue, preferably a new one and one that you have only lightly prepared.

In the afternoon Glenda will guide the ensemble through simple but effective processes to approach the scene.

Please note this is workshop is best suited to more experienced actors – those who have an acting degree or have at least three years work at a professional level.  Please also note that spaces will be limited to ensure that Glenda can work closely with the successful applicants.    Applications will be decided by ballot and everyone will be notified if they are successful or not.

Please note: This event is at 10:00am – 5:00pm AEDT – (Melbourne time) West Studio, Dancehouse Studios Brunswick – 4/215 Albion St, Brunswick
