An opportunity for two Equity members to work with Glenda Linscott on two monologues in preparation for theatre company auditions.
Every year, most theatre companies open their doors for a General Theatre Audition so they can stay across available artists, emerging, developing, and returning. To offer this opportunity to as many actors as possible, auditions are often extremely short, usually only 10 -20 minutes. Directors may wish to see two contrasting pieces, and sometimes they only have time for one.
For actors, this is a golden opportunity to introduce yourself to a company, to show your work, and to refresh networking opportunities with industry stakeholders. So, it is worth your while to utilise the few minutes that casting agents and directors will be able to afford you, to the best of your ability.
It is not an easy thing to accomplish. Auditions are challenging, so it is up to you to prepare well for such an important opportunity.
After this general audition workshop actors should be able to take away a To Do List to help achieve a powerful, enabling, achievable audition that will make them feel a like million dollars when they leave the audition room, having performed their absolute best and achieved their personal goals!
Please note that the two actors will be selected by ballot and will work with Glenda via zoom livestream with observers present. There will be time for a debrief and questions.
Please note: This event is at 12pm AEST (Sydney/Melbourne time). You will be sent a Zoom link to join in.
Please note: This will not be recorded for a podcast in order to ensure the privacy of the actors working with Glenda.
