Synopsis

Equity member Alicia Case will interview Neighbours stars Sharon Johal and Alan Fletcher about what it is like to work on one of Australia's fastest paced and longest running productions. We will cover everything from the Neighbours audition/casting process and learning lines to on-set advice, diversity on Australian TV and filming post COVID-19. SHARON JOHAL is an actor, presenter, lawyer and podcaster. She continues her role as Dipi Rebecchi in her fourth year on Neighbours and utilises her platform to impact society as an activist on various issues. Sharon is the first Punjabi Sikh of Indian Heritage actor in a mainstream television role. She most recently embarked on creating her new podcast We Are The Real Ones. ALAN FLETCHER has worked as a professional performer in film, television and theatre and radio for 43 years but he is predominately known in Australia and many other countries for his 26 years as Dr Karl Kennedy on Neighbours. In 2004 Alan formed rock band Waiting Room with Chris Hawker and Tommy Rando (later joined by drummer Jeff Consi). The band produced their first album in 2005 before embarking upon eight wildly successful tours of the UK combined with a 10 year residency at the Elephant and Wheelbarrow in St Kilda. PLEASE NOTE: 12pm is Australian Eastern Standard Time. Selection is by ballot and successful participants will be sent details about how to tune in.

  • Alicia Case

    Professionally trained actor Alicia Case is currently based in Adelaide, Australia, and has appeared in SA produced short films Maurice’s Symphony and most recently Honey. Notable credits include national TVC’s for San Remo’s Fantastic Go for Goodies and People’s Choice Credit Union Insurance ad Superstition. She is also a voice over artist, most recently narrating for Journey Beyond. Alicia’s work as a Standardised Patient is highly regarded at the University of Adelaide, where she role plays for Medical, Health Sciences and Nursing students. She assists them in developing complex communication skills and  also aids with assessment and examinations. Alicia is a passionate Equity member and is focused on working in the industry as an actor and performer in film and TV.
