Actors don't always get the support they need on and off camera to keep themselves grounded and together. It can be easy to take on beliefs about yourself and your acting based on the structures and power dynamics of the business. In this session we'll take time to work with meditation practices that help you make inner space in moments of tension and which help you to see that you are more than the thoughts and stories. We’ll explore how a mindfulness practice can help you separate from unhelpful stories and feelings you may have absorbed, and show you how you can have a relationship with them, rather than reacting to them.


  • Craig Behenna

    Craig Behenna: Writer, Director and Developer Craig is a filmmaker who has written film and TV that has won Best Children's TV at Kidscreen New York, The Asian Television Awards and the Jury Prize at Austin Film Festival. He develops work with production companies across the pond between LA and Australia and his work as a theatremaker has played across Australia, New York and Europe. His experience with anxiety and depression has led him to work with actors, writers and creatives as a teacher and then as a mindfulness and wellbeing coach. Craig began meditation with Thich Nhat Nanh and the community at Plum Village, France. He trotted the globe (remember those days?) and sat with many great teachers, including time as a resident at the Zen Center of Los Angeles. He is a certified coach and is completing a Masters in Narrative Therapy through the Dulwich Centre, University of Melbourne. You can find Craig at his new site https://www.craigbehenna.com/ .
