Synopsis

This workshop will focus on picking up choreography quickly and confidently! The session will start with a short warm-up, followed by a fun, musical theatre-style dance combo. Kira will offer up different tools for learning choreography so you can best showcase your personality and skills. Please wear closed-toed shoes you can move well in. The combo will be at an Advanced Beginner level of dance.  This workshop is open to Equity NZ members and folk who are Equity curious - so get a friend to sign up!

  • Kira Josephson

    Kira Josephson is one of Aotearoa's most prominent musical theatre choreographers. She works regularly at The Court Theatre, where she has choreographed Strictly Ballroom, Something Rotten, Little Shop of Horrors, Dance Nation, She Kills Monsters, The Little Mermaid Jr, and later this year, 9 to 5. She has had the pleasure of choreographing a cabaret show for Tony Award winner Alice Ripley (Next to Normal). Other choreography credits include Urinetown, The Wedding Singer, The Drowsy Chaperone, Into the Woods and Spelling Bee. She loves working with dancers of all levels and encouraging them to discover joy and confidence in their movement. Kira is also an actor (Power Rangers Dino Fury, Kid Sister, M3GAN) and the Secretary of the Equity New Zealand Board.
