Synopsis

With so many opportunities in TV, voice over, and feature film, now is a great time to improve your Neutral Standard English accent (sometimes called RP, or the Standard British Accent). Led by Alexandra Whitham, this online workshop will provide insider tips to give you the edge at your next audition requiring a Neutral Standard English accent.

  • Alexandra Whitham

    Alexandra has lived and worked as Voice & Dialect Coach and Theatre Director in the UK, Australia, the USA, and New Zealand. She is currently the Voice Lecturer and Interim Discipline Leader of the BA Acting Programme at Te Whare Wānanga o Wairaka/ Unitec Institute of Technology in Auckland, New Zealand. She also freelances as a Dialogue Coach for TV, theatre, and film. Her recent credits include the Good Oil/ Cadbury Flake TVC Campaign, the Xero Accounting Software advertising campaign, and the musical theatre production Once at the ASB Waterfront Theatre (Peach Theatre Company). Alexandra is a regular guest lecturer at the Kristin Linklater Voice Centre (UK), the Actors’ Equity Association (NZ & Australia), and The Actors’ Program (NZ). Her previous teaching contracts have included Toi Whakaari Drama School (NZ), East 15 (UK), the Oxford School of Drama (UK), the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama (UK), and the Academy of Live & Recorded Arts (UK). She holds an Advanced Diploma of Acting from AIT Arts (South Australia), a BA from Flinders University (South Australia), a Master’s Degree in Voice Studies from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (UK), and is a Designated Linklater Voice Teacher.
