Synopsis

This is a chance for up to four actors to work on scenes with actor and acting coach Chum Ehelepola from the Sydney Actors Collective (SAC) during a zoom livestream.  Successful applicants will be provided scenes to work on and have the chance to learn them in advance. Please note: There will be other actors observing (auditing) this class.  Unsuccessful applicants will be sent a Zoom link to observe this class. Those who apply to participate do not need to apply to audit as you will be sent the Zoom link automatically. This workshop will take place at 12pm Australian Eastern Standard Daylight Time and 2pm New Zealand time.

    Having walked away from an engineering career to follow his passion for acting Chum’s television credits include:  The Straits playing the lovable rogue, Joseph; Rake, A Moody Christmas, Dr Dr, No Activity, Redfern Now, Sea Patrol, Laid, All Saints, the critically acclaimed The Surgeon and Cate Blanchett’s Stateless. Chum has performed in numerous films that have had the honour of playing at festivals such as Cannes, Sundance, Sydney to name a few. Most recently Chum is a starring cast member in the 2021 AACTA award winner and LOGIE award winner for best Australian drama The Newsreader. He played one of the lead roles in ABC comedy Preppers. Chum has had success in Hollywood appearing in Lady Dynamite (Netflix), and Paul Giamatti's Lodge 49 (AMC), Bones (Fox), Sequestered (Sony) and core cast in the Disney tentpole mega film MULAN. This year Chum will appear in Paramount + ONE NIGHT, Season 2 of Newsreader, Channel 7’s We Interrupt This Broadcast and is starring in Disney’s mega budget NAUTILUS for release late this year. Chum is an advocate for diversity. He was selected for the ABC USA diversity program (12 participants from 20 000 applications) and has worked with MEAA on their diversity showcase.
