Please note that due to a scheduling conflict we have had to change the date and venue for this event: It is now taking place on Thursday 8 February 2024, 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm at the Dancehall, 150 Princes St, Carlton North VIC 3054:    There is no need to reapply as we will transfer these applications to the new date:  Apologies for any inconvenience: A three hour in person opportunity to work on the foundations of stage combat for today's industry, with internationally-recognised fight director Lyndall Grant in person in Melbourne.  Stage combat is a physical performance skill that draws upon a wide range of an actor's skills.  It is based in techniques and principles that are designed to keep all involved safe, while freeing you up to tell the story you want to tell.  To reach this point of freedom however, the practice needs time to be absorbed and embodied - which cannot always be fully achieved in a rehearsal space.  This session will explore the essentials of performing unarmed stage combat safely and effectively - including the concepts, skills and acting strategies that empower you as an actor and support you in delivering your best work. Please note: that as this is an IN PERSON LIVE event. Places will be capped at 25 people. Successful applicants will be chosen by ballot.
