Tim Dashwood
Tim has studied extensively in a range of martial disciplines and movement practices, training around Australia and North America under the mentorship of Nigel Poulton. Currently the President of the Society of Australian Fight Directors incorporated (SAFDi), Tim is certified under their curriculums as well as been instrumental in the development and rebranding of the organisation. As a Fight Director, he has worked with multiple companies in Sydney and Brisbane, notably: Hayes Theatre Company, Sydney Theatre Company, Griffin, The Ensemble, ATYP, Opera Australia, Belvoir, shake & stir theatre co., Bell Shakespeare, Darlinghurst Theatre Co., Sport for Jove and Outhouse Theatre. Recent credits include: West Side Story, Miss Saigon (Opera Australia), Zombie! The Musical, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Dubbo Championship Wrestling (Hayes) Alone It Stands (The Ensemble), Saplings (ATYP), The Lewis Trilogy, Jailbaby (Griffin), A Fool in Love, The Importance of Being Earnest, No Pay? No Way! (Sydney Theatre Company), Bell Players (Bell Shakespeare), Tell Me I’m Here, Fangirls, Opening Night (Belvoir), Fourteen, Jane Eyre (shake & stir), Ulster American (Outhouse). Committed to helping educate the industry, Tim teaches stage combat and movement disciplines for: Actors Centre Australia, Sydney Actors School and NIDA as well as workshops for the SAFDi. Also a professional actor, Tim has toured Australia and worked with companies that include: Darlinghurst Theatre Co. (A Chorus Line, Deathtrap), shake & stir theatre co. (The Twits, Animal Farm, Fantastic Mr Fox, Dracula, Wuthering Heights, George’s Marvellous Medicine), Bell Shakespeare (Richard III), Gordon Frost Organisation (FAME), and Kay & McLean (The Graduate).
