Synopsis

In this livestream workshop Dianne will introduce US Voice Director Randall Ryan from HamsterBall Studios, who has been working across the globe on games such as World of Warcraft, Lord of the Rings Online, Dungeons & Dragons Online, Transformers: Optimus Prime, the Deer Hunter series, World Series of Poker. They will work on how to break down an audition script for Video Games. Four actors will be chosen by ballot and work on a live audition where Dianne and Randall will break down the process and the approach to the work. Participants will get the opportunity to observe (audit) and ask questions about all things Video Games within the session. The sessions will be informative, fun and dynamic, and will involve instructional and interactive elements. Please note: Successful applicants will need to have a showreel or an audio reel. Successful participants will be chosen by ballot and we will inform everyone if they have been chosen. We will send the zoom link to all who have applied so you are able to observe the session. This class will take place online at 12pm AEST and 2pm NZ time.

    Dianne Weller trained as an actor here in Australia in the 90s before embarking on an international career in acting and voice over. She won a coveted Society of Voice Arts and Sciences (SOVAS) award in the US for her performance in the VR Game Hubris. She has been working in the Video Game industry for the last 7 years on Titles like Wolfenstein Youngblood, Elite Dangerous and Home Sweet Home. Dianne is passionate about the Video Games industry and how actors can work with Directors and Game Developers to bring amazing characters to life.

  • Randall Ryan

    Randall Ryan is the Director of HamsterBall Studios based in the US, which focuses on Music Composition, Audio Engineering and Voice Direction and been working in Audio Production for Gaming for over 20 years. His recent Casting and Directing credis include Chivalry 2, Invincible: Doc Seismic Attacks (in Fortnite), Lord of the Rings Online, The Walking Dead: Destinies, World of Tanks, Cosmonious High, Dungeons & Dragons Online Vacation Simulator, GI Joe: Operation Blackout. The Legacy titles he has been involved with include World of Warcraft, Deer Hunter, Hearthstone, Transformers, Barbie, Disney Princess, and Dora the Explorer.
