Synopsis

Are you an experienced actor looking to move sideways into voiceover? Award winning voiceover artist Simon Kennedy will give you the practical advice you need to start the move sideways. This will focus on practical information rather than vocal technique with Simon giving advice on topics such as
  • who the players are, what and where the work is and how you get cast;
  • Agents, casting and best practice;
  • Ensuring your demo is professional enough to get you the work;
  • Who to know.
This is a key opportunity for Simon to inform, discuss and answer all your questions.  Please note: This event will take place via Zoom at 12pm Australian Eastern Standard Time and 2pm NZ time.

    Simon Kennedy has been a been a professional voice actor/broadcaster since 1996, winning Best Voice Actor - Outstanding Body Of Work  and Outstanding Promo – TV or Streaming – Best Voiceover at the 2024 SOVAS Voice Arts Awards at The Beverly Hills Hilton in Los Angeles, and Best Voice Actor - International - Outstanding Body Of Work (2023).  Simon also won the 2024 PromaxANZ Gold Award for Best Voice Actor and is also a 2 Time Winner at The Australian Commercial Radio Awards.  Simon is a proud International Ambassador for The Society of Voice Arts (SOVAS). Simon Kennedy is an active member of the MEAA Voice Actor committee and is politically engaged in fighting for legislation to protect performers from the negative effects of Generative AI. Simon has also been a professional stand-up comedian and actor for over 25 years and knows the challenges of a multi-disciplined career. Simon is also the author of a memoir, 9/11 and the Art of Happiness (published 2014).
