Our Short Course Writing for Actors will begin with this two-part live stream (Feb 14 from 12-2pm AEDT & Feb 21 from 12-1pm AEDT) is a good introduction to storytelling and to writing. If you attended last year’s Writing for Actors sessions, this material won’t be new to you, but it may be useful as a refresher course. The job description for screenwriter looks simple. Just make up a few characters and contrive some imaginary events for them to go through in a way that holds the attention of an audience. How hard could it be? If you’re having problems building your story, you’re not alone. This session is designed to help newbies and experienced writers. What we’ll do is go back to basics and ask some simple questions, like: What is a story?, What are the essential elements of story? and How do you build a story from scratch? This short course will continue in March and will cover How to Build a Story over three more live stream sessions hosted by Chris Corbett.
